Sorted the insurance for my Z4 today and for once it was a pleasant surprise. I added a couple of extras like protected no claims and it was £328 fully comp for 12k per year. I’ve got £38 cash back due soon too. I think that’s the first time ever my insurance has been less than £300. Result.

I’m now in the fact position where the VED is a chunk more than insurance.
The VED on our old E91 330d is now more than our yearly insurance for it (SDP plus commute and full business use for both of us on 8k miles a year).

Same here on the E82 125i - VED is just over £400, Insurance (with Business Use) £340.

Both around £300 on a tatty old Honda Civic.....

It feels odd paying more for VED - when I thought I was going to jump into a E90 M3 this year, the VED was double the insurance (which was oddly cheap) biglaugh

I'm with you on that one, albeit with only one N52 to look after.

Looking on the bright side, it might help the 440i GC I'm looking to park alongside it get a bit cheaper hehe

Replaced the front anti roll bar drop links on the E26 with significantly chunkier looking ones. They were causing an annoying clunk so were obviously on their way out. Pretty simple job, only slight annoyance was that the bigger ball joints would not clear the suspension strut to screw into the end of the anti roll bar without loosening it off and rotating it a bit.

Quick test drive has reviled that, apart from the clunk which has gone, the suspension feels much more sorted at the front now, could just be a placebo effect though!

Managed to finish fitting the wrapped trim to the Z4.

I appreciate that I’m in the minority for not liking the rare gloss black, but it was in poor condition and s a daft finish because because it shows up dust, fingers print and scratches like no man’s business.

Cheers Dan. I much prefer it to the silly gloss black trim.

The wheel is getting refurbed at some point but I’m tempted to go with leather having had loads of Alcantara wheels.

Yeah; you drive a lot more than I do pal; alcantara is great and easy to keep clean as long as you look after it. Just feels better in the hands IMO

What about an 'alf n 'alf from RSW wink

Some nice nappa leather feels good, especially with the perforated leather.

My alcantara wheels wore well because I’m a detailing nerd, I just fancy a change having had four alcantara wheels.

It’s satisfying when a good job is done - however, definitely not to my taste, I have to say.

Looking sweet as always. Quite tempted by the genuine front splitter stuff looking at yours. Mine had cheap aftermarket garbage on it when I bought it, which has wrecked the paint on the bumper, so I need something better to cover it up now!

Not what I've done to my BMW, but what I've done in my BMW.

704 miles in one tank in my F11 530d, two trips down south in back to back days helped to achieve my most miles to a tank yet.

Could have gotten more miles but the closest petrol station to me charging only 136.9 for diesel meant I stopped short of the maximum range.

Whats the bay way to keep an Alcantara steering wheel? I've the M Performance one in my M2 and want to keep it looking at its best.
