I've just popped up, and it's exactly the same. EML on, and a grumbly engine note. Did you hear the MP4 clips I emailed you Sam?
Not following your first sentence? I wonder if it needs new HT leads? It does sound like it's misfiring, and this is exactly the behaviour my old 172 Cup displayed when a HT lead was shot?
It's in at Parkside on Tuesday, they're looking in to the failing water cooler pump and steering wheel vibration under braking, so let's hope they can figure it out.
Sorry, spelling….the codes need reading. Not following your first sentence? I wonder if it needs new HT leads? It does sound like it's misfiring, and this is exactly the behaviour my old 172 Cup displayed when a HT lead was shot?

Yeah, saw the video. It did sound rough.
Could be a dead coil pack, but it’s hard to say without knowing what the codes are.

I've just chatted with Parkside Autos (BMW specialist, Worksop) he says that from what I'm suggesting the symptoms are that it's likely a coil pack has gone. in tomorrow @2.30, so fingers crossed.
Shouldn’t be too painful then. If you’re seriously thinking about tuning it, I’d be replacing all six coils with some Eldor ones.

Tuning will be the last step. Prior to this I want to upgrade to an Airtec intercooler, change the charge pipe to a VRSF one, and put on either a VRSF Street exhaust or a Milltek. Then the remap will happen.

I think the VRSF exhaust is difficult to source and there may not be many Miltek exhaust available either. I've just had a Gravity Performance exhaust fitted to my N55 E92 335i. I am happy with it other than it drones loudly between ~1,800 to 2,200 rpm, which is ~60mph in sixth gear. I am trying to drive around this at present by using fifth gear when the car is under load at this speed, but it is frustrating. The PE mod might be something to look seriously at and will be cheaper than an aftermarket part. roadie said:

I've already spoken with VRSF in the US directly about purchase, they are available. The Milltek is available here - https://jfautomotive.co.uk/product/milltek-full-ex...Just need to decide which I prefer the sound of.
I think I prefer the sound of the VRSF, and it's £400 cheaper to boot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4xX1nBRNWo&ab...

I need to detail my engine bay at some point. Both those looking grand. First off there are a few brackets and the like under the bonnet which have started to rust. I want zero rust anywhere on my car, so in line with this I'll Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 these bits, them go over with Hammerite smooth silver no make them look as OEM as poss. Also when the upgraded charge pipe is fitted I'll get them to replace the bonnet release cable (only £10 or so as a part) as it's accessed from the same rough area. The current one is working fine, but its plastic sleeve has pretty much completely failed, and it looks a mess.
Any suggestions for engine detailing products?

Some detailing brushes and cloths and your power washer
And to finish it; I use AGs Rubber/Vinyl care: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Autoglym-Vinyl-Rubber-Car...
Used to use 303 Aerospace protectant; but it lasts all of 20mins whereas the AG stuff lasts really well

It’s quite hard to get the balance right. My PE mod droned at times (especially with the valve open all of the time). The pay off was that it sounded good at full chat. The cold start was a bit noisy but I liked it when I found out that it annoyed the local busy body.

If it is dud coil, I’d be tempted to bite the bullet and do all six now especially if tuning is on the cards.
I used the Massata charge pipe (turd of a job to fit) and their 5.5 inch intercooler on mine (dead easy to fit). They’re well reviewed and good value for money.

Two new rear tyres on the 340i today bang on 30k miles. (Pirellis)
Servicing aside it's the first real spend on it since owning from new in October 2018 so pretty impressed.
That’s a good effort for the rears…mine are always done by 18k. Servicing aside it's the first real spend on it since owning from new in October 2018 so pretty impressed.
