Looks like my P1 has low compression on 2 cylinders. So needs some engine work.
anyone know of an independent that can do this sort of work cheaper than at a dealer?
I am in Surrey direction.

Try Abbey Motorsport. They mainly deal with Skylines but will work on most Japanese cars. They are based in Oxted. 01883 732331

You could try Dave West who owns/runs Risborough 4wd. He can be got on 01844 274652. He is Subaru trained then set up on his own when the garage closed. He's serviced 4 of my Scoobs including my 22B, so yes I trust him!

It's a fair distance from you, but you might want to try Autosportif in Oxford. Not just another subaru specialist, these people seem to know what there talking about.

www.autosportif.co.uk/

A friend of mine had a total engine rebuild on his 3dr STI5 a few years back. He is a fussy sort and was very impressed.

These guys get very good write-ups, but up near Chelmsford in Essex so maybe a bit far? Haven't used them as car is under very expensive warranty LOL, but Knowlsey has hired some good guys and is spending plenty of money to make this a good company.
