Been to this meet a few times, and it has always been well behaved, no laxxers or roy bacers.

This month's meet is on the 20th April from 6-6:30 on in the Comet car park in Reading by the football staduim.

Originally started as a 200SX meet, it's now attended by most Jap owners clubs, about 120 cars last time.

Cheers

Hi Ben,

Saw your motor last time and thought it looked like a giggle to drive. Does it have a roof?

I'll try and say hello next time...

Roof? whats one of them?

Yeah, it's good fun, its putting down about 230bhp and 200ftlb at the wheels now, I reckon I'm 80% there with the tuning.

I was expecting to start to see a bit of knock at these levels, but the sensor is not picking up a whisper, so I may start ramping the boost up once I have all my other settings to my liking.

All good clean fun!

see you there Nik

Its running 12psi which is about all the stock internals can take for day to day driving, but you can be cheecky and push it a bit now and then .

Um yes it does shift much to the annoyance of owners of quick cars, after all, it's only an mx5

Mines only a 1.6, the 1.8 FM2 mx5 can make 250bhp out of the box. Phil Large another poster on here has one of them!

One of the guys who comes to the Reading meet is a supplier of all the gear you'll ever want for an mx5. Gordon is his name,he has a black 5 which was running a custom Greddy kit with Link ecu (same as the FM2) but has now stripped it out and is going for NA power with a tec3 and lots of goodies. His company is called www.tracktec.co.uk, he is also a supplier of Rota wheels for all mazdas.

My turbo comes from www.flyinmiata.com these guys have been turbocharging mx5s since pretty much day one. Their car "track dog" is up to 350bhp at the wheels, and you can buy all the components on the site to make your own, at a price of course!

That sounds like good power from 12psi, bit tail happy I bet!

As I am discovering, the next step to uprated internals is a little expensive....
