Toyota MR2 or Mazda RX-8?

Probably the RX-8 for me, but only just.

I've seen a few of those RX8s now... squashed PT Cruiser, anyone? The new MR2 looks like a squareish Boxster...

hmm indeed, wich MR2 ??

the 3rd gen one is indeed too square, and too high.. and the interior just is plain horrible!

however, it's supposed to be a great drive.. and with the new toyota-approved turbo kits.. it ought to be real fun!!

I like the RX8.. but it's too compromised for me.. it needs to lose weight, gain a supercharger, lose the back seats, and a few inches of height...

does look V.nice with the mazdaspeed bodykit on though!!

Oh dear.

It seems that you have caught Mr Ghost again - with his trousers down

There are sooooo many cars and sooooo many versions of the many cars, the little me has trouble remembering them all.

BUT DON'T WORRY! I came up with a solution years ago. I don't remember them :|

I have no idea which mk I mean. I see one in town occasionally and I saw another (possibly the same version) in Tesco on Friday.

The one I meant looked like this:

sorry about the size.

Could someone tell me which model of the MR2 this actually is?

Cheers,
LG

Better comparisons would be

MR2 V MX5 V MGF
(jap V jap V mid engined and all RWD)

Or RX8 v Nissan 350Z V S2000.
Not so easy to compare but all Jap RWD coupes. I geuss anyone that is buying new would have considered these options though.

I'd have an old twin turbo RX7 (first of the mk3s) and keep the spare 15k for fuel and rotor tip seals. It's the best looking japanese car ever.
