Over the weekend I took my crx 1.6i-16(ZC) apart to do a clutch swap as it was slipping and the thrustbearing was making horrible noises...

Got the box off and removed the clutch plates only to find the one I had sourced to replace the worn out components was the wrong size (212mm as apposed to 200mm diameter)

I have been told by a guy on the www.hondacrx.co.uk forum that as I have 20 spline gearbox, I could just fit a later fly wheel from a '92 (EH?) Civic, along with this larger clutch plate, and have performed a useful upgrade that is actually quite often done with early crx's to allow them to handle bigger power/torque over standard.

This is all good, but what I want to know is: which cars might I be able to find the right flywheel in...dohc/sohc/vtec etc, and will the this flywheel fit my the standard D16A9 bellhousing?

I have asked this on the other forum too, but it moves v e r y slowly compared to PH, so I thought I'd ask here too.

Cheers,
Mouse

Four days without a reply? Things move slowly here too DM.

Unless you want to discuss politics/pikeys/speeding/TVRs/stupid Lotus theories/sex/religon/etc.

Sorry I can't help

...now three weeks, seems some people just don't give a flying French immigrant about cars these days.

I think I will have solved the problem by the end of the weekend though, just need to get my hands on a secondhand 212mm '92-'95 'D'series flywheel...

:fingerscrossed:

How did the Trackday go by the way? I was gutted I couldn't make it, but I did take an Alfa 147 Lusso(JTD sadly but the thing was well quick up to 100, and sound sexyily snarly under full throttle)out for a raz instead in a bid to persuade my mum there are alternatives to an A3 :zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:

so it wasn't all bad.

Did I just admitt on PH that I loved the way a diesel engine sounded?!, well at least it was an Alfa I guess.

BTW..., don't worry no one reads my threads anyway apart from you, as is proven here.

Diesel DM? Surely not.

The track day got cancelled so I didn't have to worry about binning the MR2 (a mate was a trackday organiser and he says he's never seen a mk2 MR2 on a track that didn't spin).

This is the first time in ages I've had a chance to look at PH - must go, so much to look at, so much utter dross to ignore.

Nice to hear from you matie...

Twink is sorted again now...
...here's a flick of her at work on site on Friday. Ain't she pretty!?

My mate here at work got a MR2-t over the weekend, he's taking me for a spin in a bit, apparently it's running 280brake at the mo'!

Saw there's another sesh @ Hethal in the New year thru' bookatrack, I'm gonna go if it kills me, might bring some company too... likes going quick, which is a bit of a shock as she's primary school teacher!

...oh and the diesel Alfa: I was shocked how good it was up to about 80mph, but it didn't pick up and fly at 5,000 honda stylee (thank goodness!)

I bet you a carbon fibre fuel flap that there isn't...

BTW did I mention I'm moulding carbon bits for CRXs now? Fancy a new sunroof panel in glossy carbon?

Pun Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry bad! ...and yes the Sunday sills and speed holes in the wheel arches were a bit poo weren't they!

Not really "taught" Emily anything, we're both reasonabley well versed in what's going on, but we are having fun...

...that's what it's all about, but shock horror she doesn't look like any girlie band members, just Emily.

...and there's something very appealingly naughty about going out with a primary school teacher. She gets to pretent to be a grown-up during the day and a teenager in the evening. The only slight problem is that going out is a bit of secret-agent mission*, as kids/parents from her school are always around town, but that just adds the fun.

How are you and S? Any big plans for the holiday?

*especially if you've pulled a sickie!

If that's how you think of her...

No plans really - just off to sunny Finland to snowmobile in to the Artic circle. I'm getting house sitters in because my bike was stolen out of my garage on Friday - I'm going to post a thread in the biker's forum.

Just got that.... oh dear!

Good luck: I'd find it hard to trust anyone to do that right now.

Cool! I'm the third member to contribute to this thread. Shame I have nothing good to say isn't it?

Mouse, can you swing by my shack on Sunday?

Avec Emily if she wants - she's welcome too.
