Does anybody have any thoughts on the RX7 efini, and GTO Twin Turbo? Just pondering thats all.
RX7s are gorgeous cars, but low torque and high revs make for an interesting drive. You'd need to try one out to see if you found that exciting or annoying. Rotor tip wear is the obvious problem, so budget for that every 30,000 miles or so.
GTO, poor mans NSX as you well know Nice cars if you're planning on going into the pimping business
The RX-7 was produced from 92-2002 although only available as a official UK car from 92-late 95. Thereafter all RX-7's are jap imports.
UK Varients had 237 bhp, the equivalent Jap versions (92-95) had 255 bhp.
96-98 were 265 bhp and 99-02 280 bhp.
0-60 is 5 secs top speed of 165 mph all in standard form (Jap versions), UK (0-60 6.0 Top Speed 155 mph)
Rotor wear can occur but nothing like the mileage mentioned above. I have heard of rotor tip wear between 65-80,000 mile mark, but it is not uncommon for RX-7's to go on beyond this.
As a current owner, the twin turbo RX-7 is a phenominal car to drive, fantastic handling and explosive power, humbling many exotica on roads today.
With a little light modification these cars will drop in to the sub 5 second bracket and will go on past 170 mph.
Have a look at www.fduk.org and visit the buyers forum for more info.

I take my RX-7 to a specialist in Reading but there are a few service specialists across the country depending up on your location.
click on the link below to get a better idea of places you can service your RX-7. With the new RX-8 arriving shortly on our shores expect this to increase with Mazda local dealers getting in on the act again.
