I've seen that.
The thing is, it was a test in Japan. We don't know by who. We don't know who sponsered it and we don't know when.
I know people who've run HKS induction kits for years without any issues.
Plus, it was really cheap.....
Turbo timer I usually leave in full auto mode. So it moniters how hard I thrash the car and runs for an appropriate time afterwards to cool everything off.
It does have a manual mode where you can set the time you want. Useful for warming up on those cold winter mornings.

It works for me, gets cleaned, oiled and then re-used, However that test raises the question, why make a filter, that doesn't filter, also if it didn't work, wouldn't the car fail an MOT for emmisions re; carbon ppm?
Wouldn't affect emmisions, just engine longevity. The Apexi filters are generaly much better in terms of flow/filtration.
As for why market a product that doesn't work, ever heard of an Ecotek valve? (he says...opening a big can of worms and running away )

Yes. I do. Although the stock cooling system fitted to the ST205 is pretty good.
Once the boost is wound up, FMIC is the way to fly. It's on the plan. Need cash first.
What did you build it out of?
Lol cant get that behind the traditional bumper without some serious modification to the support beam and thered never be enough airflow, as the normal bumper gets right in the way.
Hence the swap to the carlos sainz front end and bumper support....still causing me headaches tho....
Ive got to relocate the fan position to in front of the rad onto the right side of the car to make room for the air intake (straight shot) into the the new turbo...(ooo i want it runnin!!!) and should crank out around 380bhp....give or take a bit..once the managements sorted.
The intercooler core was purchased separately with the pressure plates already fitted (custom size tho), i then fabbed up the end tanks and mounts and tigged the whole thing together....phew! before pressure testing it and painting it black to disguise it.
Still may use the old headlight washer system as an intercooler water spray system...decisions, decisions!

The cast pistons can handle max of around 16psi before reliability becomes an issue (cracked skirts etc), but rods should be well up to the job as youre not revving any higher than the standard limits.
Ecu and injectors are a must upgrade (later), so for now ill just run it with the boost at around 14psi and upgrade the pistons and management when funds allow.
Ive done a different route with the pipework, to keep the internal volume to a manageable amount, and for the most direct flow.
Water injection is a no no for me....never saw the point, as it dosent fix the root cause of the detonation; heat.
Possibly a lower cr is needed, but combined with a superior cooled charge, and uprated cooling system will hopefully allow me free/er reign to produce power.
Have to wait and see how it pans out.....the turbo is well up to the task now, its an uprated hybrid, so in combination with the other mods it should be attainable.....(fingers crossed)

There is a school of thought that goes "crank the boost up, wait for the engines to blow and *then* replace the pistons".
I know someone who ran a 340bhp ST205 on stock internals for about 14000 miles. The bugger refused to give up.
An "overboost moment" got cylinder #3 in the end.
