Looking at trading the Impreza (2.0 Sport, X Reg, 30,000 miles)in for a Leon Cupra R. Seemed like a good idea until I found out that all they would offer me was around £5000. Thats £10,000 depreciation (give or take) in a couple of years.

Won't be getting a Leon .... Is it me or is this loss a tad over the top?

They'll only offer book if they want it and can sell it on their forecourt. If they're just going to chuck it out to auction then they will offer low. Why don't you sell your car privately and the go back when you've got the cash?

I can relate. I had an 'S' reg Sport, immaculate, and lost a shed load when selling time came.

Wish I'd bought the turbo instead looking back at it.
