Just been on one

This car is to quick for mere mortals to use on the road, I was truly astounded at its cornering speeds and its aparent limitless grip. I have been in some fairly quick cars, megablades, megabusa's, Ariel Atoms and Elises that are supposed to handle and grip well but this thing beggered belief. 50-60mph round and round a big roundabout, yaw control just kept it all in check and sent you on your merry way (minus a couple of mm of Yokohama's finest!!!).

BRILLIANT.

Careful, Tuffer...

You'll probably get away with it 99.9% of the time in the dry, just beware of the boy Newton if things get a little moist.

There is very little warning of impending doom in these things.

I did get that feeling. Oh look I can go as fast as I like, faster, faster, faster.............Uh Oh! But by that time you would be travelling at such a rate that it would end up very messy.
I dont think I will go for one, as impressive as it was I dont think it would be much fun, it's just tooo quick. Refering back to a thread about Elise's, they dont need any more power because the fun is in the handling and being able to use 100% of the cars ability. I used to have some great fun in my old 1.3 Fiesta, tyre squeeling lunacy at a heady 20mph. To get those sorts of thrills in the Lancer (or to a lesser extent the Scooby) you are travelling at silly speeds on public roads, moraly I just can't do that sort of thing anymore.
So I may have to jack up a test in an Elise MK2! I want some fun!!!

I can second your views on the Evo. Went on a test drive today and was mighty impressed. This was also straight AFTER a test drive in a Subaru WRX STi 03 plate. Both very good, but the Evo was better balanced and more of a commited drive. Exhilerating experience.
