Almera Mk2 - Any good?

Anyone any recommendations/comments on these? I used to hear decent things about the mk1 but I hate the way they look...

I'm basically after a 5 door hatch around the £2-3k mark that's cheap to insure and run

I ran one of these from new for 5 years .

Overall a very reliable and cheap car - never broke down once. However... they are VERY slow regardless of what engine you choose, and are seriously shit handlers. Makes a fine shopping or wives car though

you would have a lot more fun in an old EG or EK Civic...

set of konis and ground controls and you would have something fun to throw around, if a little underpowered...
