Two days before christmas i was driving my fto (triptronic) goin about 30mph accelerating then lifted off but the revs stayed the same at about 4000rpm! trying to slow down braking but the engine was still pulling.. put it into neutral and revs stayed there.
Switched off the engine and all returned to normal but the same thing happened.. you can keep pushing the accelerator down, building revs but they get stuck when you lift off, whether your in gear or neutral or park.
Its undrivable at the moment, ive tried fault code check but im not getting any codes flash out.. just the transmission light and N light flashing twice a second nonstop.
About a week ago i replaced the output speed sensor and the car was driving beautifully again but ive been advised that disconnecting the battery for a long period may have upset the idle control valve? The throttle cable isnt getting caught and the butterfly returns back but the revs stay high...I'm guessing its electical hopefully just a sensor?? but dont want to hand it over to a garage if its something i can replace myself.
Am joining FTO owners club but wont be able to post for 20 days until membership gets accepted as you have to pay.

I hope somebody knows whats wrong, any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks Alex

Have you searched on the FTO owners club? Sure I've heard about that before.
