Expensive Day!
Discussion
Just put a deposit down on a new Wrx STI to be picked up in 2 weeks. I've also asked them to fit a prodrive pack (be rude not to). Couple of questions: How long should i run in it for, and what rpm is safe in the first few months. Also, has anyone had experience using the free fuel vouchers from subaru?
2 schools of thought on run in,.. one boost it hard from the start as apparently it beds in the rings better.. however if theres a problem it'll show it upp and it'll go bang. The other option is gentle boost low revs and low boost for 500 miles and then away you go, most tend to do it this way.
Taking it a bit easy can be a good idea, progressively working up to higher and higher revs. Most important thing to remember is to keep varying the revs a lot as you run it in, try to avoid sitting on a motorway for long periods of time at 3500(or whatever constant)rpm, you need to be going up and down the gears keeping the revs moving up and down pretty frequently, Subarus are quite sensitive to this.

The latter is the way to go,
