Skyline rumbled at the 'Ring
Catch these spy shots of new Nissan GTR
The next Nissan Skyline is on its way, if spy pictures of a car at the Nürburgring are to be believed.
The car will debut in production form at the Tokyo show next year, although a UK version will have to wait until 2008. It'll be based on the 350Z platform, using a turbocharged 400-plus bhp version of its V6, and be known simply as the Nissan GTR.
Sketches published by Autocar suggest the four-wheel drive motor will look shark-like, with a drooping, aggressive front nose with dark, slashed headlamp assemblies. At the rear, the trademark quad taillights will remain.
Expect performance figures to return under four seconds for the dash to 60mph and a Vmax of some 180mph.
Discussion
Still think the old concept from 2001 looked better by miles!

Just the precision shape and appearance suited the nature of the car perfectly. Almost like a clinical tool it also had an agressive cold edge to it.
Think the new one looks a bit gash and mis-match, so just like the last one then (r34)!

Its hard to tell what it will actually look like from those shots with the tape on it, but I know I neeeed one! Sounds awesome, and I bet it really will sound and go good.
Hopefully it will bring the prices of the older ones down slightly so there is more chance of me owning one of them...

At least £55k! I bet it'll be more than that, as the 80 official R34 GTR's imported to the UK cost that much in 1999 - I'd say £60k min?
I'm gonna do that Evo performance car competition, and at the top of my list will be the Skyline. I absolutley love the R34 GTR [and will be getting one in a year or so - and hopefully the prices will drop a little as I'm sure a number of 34 owners will want the new GTR]. I love the look, the culture, the rarity [and I mean full fat GTR's, not GTT's or GTS's]. I'm so gonna want this new GTR too, but aint ever gonna have £60k+ for a car!

I'll be waiting for the proper one to come down in price a little, the official Nismo Z-Tune

How is it going to do 0-60 well under 4 secs with only 450bhp? Does it only weigh 1100kg?
Doesn't the 911 Turbo X50 do 0-60 in under 4 seconds?
No reason why a car ~ 450bhp, 4wd and 1500kg won't get to 60 in under 4 seconds, especially with the "expected" DSG type transmission.
