I am 27yrs old with 5 years NCB, been quoted on UK spec WRX for £480 whilst Japanese's WRX came at £810. Both by same insurer, is that normal for import to be almost double than UK?

Which insurance company specialise import?

Otherwise, try scoobynet or the SIDC websites. Scoobynet has its own insurance section, so the import question will have already been answered there.

Update: I have just seen your post in scoobynet.

Just contact lots of companies and see if anyone else has a good deal.
