Anybody got a Cusco oil catch tank?

One came with my car. Need to know how to drain it. Seem to remember reading it needs a special tool to detatch the level tube.

Anybody know?

I would just lift the tank and drain. The hoses are usually only jubilee clipped. Some catch tanks have drains on the bottom.

Yes, thanks.

was going to do that, but the bracket is bolted on to a turret and it's a pain in the arse to get to the nut (if there is one) under the wing.

I can loosen it and turn the tank through 90deg. Should then be able to slide the tank off its mounting bar. Problem here is that a bolt screws through the bar to nip the tank in place, and the bolt seems to be made of putty...the head sheared off with very little effort.

Next question was going to be...is this the bolt's purpose and has it got a reverse thread? Don't want to knacker it any more by forcing it round.

Anybody?

Possibly just a cheap bolt. Some Japanese aftermarket stuff isn't the best quality.

If it is hassle it's probably worth getting a bit of aluminium extrusion, welding it to the bottom of the catch tank, the drilling/tapping and putting a plug in.
