Scooby Coupe
Geneva debut for stunning B11S Coupe
Subaru are to unveil their new concept car in Geneva and it's quite a departure for them!
The B11S concept is a four door coupe in the same mould as the Mazda RX8. Suicide doors and no B pillar make for easier access to the rear of the car whilst retaining the coupe look.
Subaru's styling has always been utilitarian until now. The coupe could mark the start of a new era in which their cars look as good as they drive.
The styling can't be described as unique, with many contemporary influences clearly visible, but all credit to Subaru the sum of those ideas has resulted in a pretty car.
No Subaru worth its salt would arrive with only two wheel drive and this car is no exception. Full time 4WD is employed along with a six cylinder horizontally opposed twin turbo engine. That's good for almost 400bhp.
It's a very exciting departure for Subaru and their reputation already serves them well, ensuring this car would be a runaway success if it were to make production.
I also think the RX-8 has a much nicer front treatment. This alongside a Z, TT or the upcoming GT-R and it's kinda similar.
But with 400hp scooby underpinnings, this thing and the GT-R will have a ringa-ding battle.
Reminds me of the SVX in it's existance but looks less a Tourer and more a fighter.
