Honda Prelude Engine Conversions
Discussion
Hi,
I'm a newbie here on behalf of my better half (so to speak..!)
She has an '89 3rd gen Prelude 2.0si 4ws which although fairly nice seems to lack the power and tunability of the later vtec engines. She (my gf) is very keen to keep the 3rd gen shape so my question is; what engines (and g/box) will fit into her car? We have been looking at the 2.2 from the 4th gen and also possibley the 1.8 vtec from the later Civic Vti's...
Any thoughts/suggestions most welcome! (especially if you know of one that has already been converted)
Thanks in advance - MrMoonyMan

H22 is a good conversion although you might run into problems with the sump height and deck height. Theres a group buy on custom engine mounts on PreludePower.com at the moment (US based site) Check it out. www.preludepower.com/forums/showthread.php?t=246538
A couple of my fellow luders here in Aus have H22's in their 3rd gens, highly recommended conversion.
