MR2 roadster running costs
Discussion
Hi,
I'm trying to draw up a shortlist for my next car, and I can't seem to find anything on how much an MR2 roadster would cost to run.
The thing I'm slightly concerned about is that they may require Ferrari-esque engine out belt changes, being mid engined. I'm guessing Toyota would be come up with a much more practical solution, but I would rather know this before, rather than when I have to pay for it.
thanks

Theyre very constricted in the engine bay, i was ogling one in the toyota dealership this morning.
Agreed there's not much room in the engine bay.
But - I ran one from new for 3 years and found it really easy on the wallet.
Cheap servicing - most i paid was about £250
Cheap insurance and fuel costs as well.
Plenty of information and advice on www.mr2roc.org

Have had 3 years of ownership with mine. I do about 220 miles in it per week, which works out to the very most at £35 per week in petrol. To insure fully comp with protected no claims is £320 per year.
And the most it ever cost me on a service was around £400, although this was for a big 40,000 mile service. Normally it had cost me just under £200 for a service.
