someone tell me about this car please....
Ive come across one for sale and was slightly confused...first thing I thought, was it was an old Lancer EVO....then I noticed the automatic box..
so its not an EVO, but it is 4WD, Turbo, Recaros, etc.
Its a Japanese year 8, which I think makes it a 1996...has done about 70000KM - looks all standard - even wheels, speakers, etc...none of the normal TV, horrible wheels, extra dials that cars seem to have fitted in Japan.
It has some sort of tiptronic box..

it is 450000 Yen on the road.
does anyone know detailed specs to this model? some links? any idea how much it has in common with a Lancer EVO? etc

We have lots of them here in Ireland, There a 1.8 DOHC Turbo, 4WD,The output isnt near the EVO less than 200bhp.
I think its the same Tip box as the FTO, There obviously all JDM cars grey imported into the country.

Ive just registered there, and Im waiting to for my registration to be confirmed.
the less than 200bhp detail suprises/disapoints me, as the one and only site i found with specs for that car, listed it as 220 or 230bhp as standard...but then again that was an australian site, so maybe they get something different from japan.
I can imagine with all the 4WD hardware, its not gonna be a particually light car, and less than 200bhp might make it less than the bargain fast car Im looking for...shame really, I need something automatic with 4 seats and dirt cheap.
