Previous PHer returning here with a car id never have expected to go for - an 80s rx-7!

Shes giving me a little gyp at the moment with an exhaust manifold artfully made of paste and some electrical woes, but pleased to have a proper car again! Its off to visit RX motors to get these issues fixed then hopefully it will be good as gold. Should be some good fun at a low price

Really like the shape of these. Would be interested to hear your tales of the trials & tribulations of bringing one of these back to full health.
Best luck.

After a trip down to RX motors yesterday the car is much happier

I have learned to start it - looks like it suffers from the leaky injector problem but thats easily worked around. The exhaust manifold and y pipe were replaced. The manifold was original with all the thermal reactor / air pump emissions equipment included, so they took all that off (visual emissions inspection yay!), so its now a bit louder and a lot lighter!

Just thought id make a token update

The car has been named Christine, after the one from the Stephen King novel
Shes presently off-duty whilst awaiting investigation of overheating troubles that cropped up after a week or two of use. I just finished getting her to go properly and then she started spewing coolant! bah. Still, plenty of cheap things still to check - radiator cap, thermostat and viscous fan coupling are on the list
