Brake specialist AP Racing has launched a new rear brake kit for the Subaru Impreza.

Finished in red or black coating, the rear brake kit comprises of a pair of small-bore four-pot calipers and larger X335mm vented discs with an integral park brake drum. Available for Impreza models from 2001 onwards, the rear brake kit has a curved grooved face pattern designed to complement and maintain brake bias when used in conjunction with AP Racing's Impreza front brake kits (part number CP7040). In addition, the larger disc improves cooling efficiency and the increase in pad area over the standard two-pot calliper ensures any problems with the pad fade are minimised.

As well as calipers and discs, each AP Racing Subaru Impreza rear brake kit includes a lightweight alloy four-piston lug mount caliper that fits directly to the back plate without the need of a bracket. The kit also includes a braided hose kit, Ferodo DS2500 brake pads and Dot 5.1 brake fluid. Two small modifications to the splashguard are required to fit the larger disc and calliper and detailed, all of which is outlined in the easy to follow instructions.

Details

  • Red four-pot caliper, X335x24mm grooved faced disc - £1,073.95 (incl. VAT) - product code: CP7625-1000R2.CG12
  • Black four-pot caliper, X335x24mm grooved faced disc - £1,057.50 (incl. VAT) - product code: CP7625-1000R2.CG12

Coventry-based AP Racing supplies brakes and clutches to leading teams in major international motorsport formulae, including Formula One, the World Touring Car Championship and the World Rally Championship (WRC). In the 2006 season, AP Racing has supplied Prodrive with brake systems for the WRC championship cars. AP Racing also supplies brakes for some of the world's most respected performance vehicles, including the world's fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron.
