Not thinking of buying it or anything, (couldn't afford the insurance!) but one day you never know!!!

AFAIK it has moving bits which help keep the car planted at speed. Bit like a Porsche has a spoiler that 'lifts' at 60mph or whatever the GTO has an Aero kit.

above certain speed it lowers spoilers front and rear in an attempt to create a venturi effect and keep the car planted on the road. Plenty of other Japanese cars have stuff like this, even some mid '80s Galants and Skylines. Most likely it's effect is minimal and it's main use is one of a gimmick feature, which is basically what the GTO is about, technology for technologies sake. If you love gadgets and widgets with lots of silly buttons no matter how pointless you will probably love it

I drive a gto (don't own one its my mums!) so do like the car!! Does the spoilers moving actually make that much of a difference to the speed e.g. 0-60 though? than say if it hadn't go the Aero.

Makes no difference to the 0-60 and no effect at low speed. However I wouldn't risk switching the aero off doing high speeds.

it just serves to give more downforce and higher speed stability.
very gimmicky, as it contributes extensively towards the cars bohemoth weight for minimal gains really.
Heard a few folk who've had them say they've been known to be troublesome, personally i'd just bin the whole system, surely the fact it weighs the same as the average challenger two is going to keep it planted at speed anyway
still a lovely car to look at though, great for the motorways, but i think they just rammed too much technology into them, which many (admittedly misingformed)people say about the skylines and such, however it's nowhere near the extent of the mitsi, too much active aero gubbins, when a chin spoiler and more downforce orientated rear spoiler would have sufficed. makes them feel distinctively cruise-liner esque when you're putting them through fast corners.

Sounds like you'd like the MR version!
