Dumb Mk2 MR2 warning light question
Discussion
Almost too embarrassed to ask something so basic but here goes.
My recently acquired import MR2 has started showing the P/S warning light after a couple of miles of driving, but with no owners manual to refer to I don't know what it's supposed to be warning me about.
First thought was power steering, but steering feels same as normal and there's plenty of fluid.
So what's this P/S warning light for and any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks

Not sure about the warning light itself being on whilst everything functions OK.
It's quite common for the P/S to stop working altogether with no obvious signs. Cure for this is to turn the ignition on/off very quickly. Only turn it to the "sart" position (not all the way to turn the engine). Switch it on/off quickly about 20 times. This re-sets the relay.

I'll second that - my Rev1 had this problem last month and the ignition trick seems to have solved it.. Guess it was just a sticky relay

TBH Al, I'm surprised neither of us have had this one between us!

No I haven't Al (still a lot to learn about MR2s) but thanks for the info.
