Not for me personally, but I can understand the appeal, maybe 300hp and it would be a nice little weapon

Er, I know looks aren't everything, but it looks like a maxed up taxi!

Anyway, you're not as wrong as me, I'm currently in the Porsche forum getting info on a 964 turbo.....

now I know I'm in the minority, but I like the 964!

I do like the sleeper looks of that legacy though.

Interesting choice from the cars for sale there.

I'd personally go for this

I'm itching to tell you you're all wrong...but then my common sense steps in and I start thinking "Hmmm, maybe I want a cheap old car with more 'go' than Tera Patrick on amphetamines as well!"

In all seriousness...whatever floats your boat. Get a car because you like it, not because you'll piss off other road users when they try it on and get thoroughly whupped.

Do not many people like that shape 911 then?

That is this one yeah?

I think thats one of the best looking 911's (and porsche in general) going.

Well I like it (surprise surprise) - used to have a Legacy that shape (but the wagon version), first-gen Legacies are also the only ones with genuine rally heritage. Remember a certain Mr Mcrae becoming fairly well known while driving them?

They do go very well for their age (standard '89 RS turbo will do a 14.8 sec standing 1/4) but the reliability doesnt have such a good reputation.

Hardly a sleeper, with big gold wheels and a F*+k off intercooler hanging under the nose (great for 3 point turns !)

Thats mainly the gearboxes which tended to just self destruct after a while, even if not thrashed, I know at least one person who went through 3 before upgrading to a WRX gearbox. The heads were also a major problem and had to be replaced with WRX heads under warranty. The ignition coil and pumps for the water to air intercooler in standard versions were also troublesome. Clutches tended to get worn out easily as well, especially with lots of hard launches, just like early WRX models. You do need to launch them quite hard to get the 14.8second time as standard.

The whole drivetrain is basically just early WRX though, so when something breaks or the engine gets too tired, most people just fit in later model WRX replacement stuff. The thing only weights about 1350kg, which is not much these days.

They look suitably subtle in standard trim as well

Get an Integra then - bigger boot than the Focus, plus rear seats almost practical (and comfy if you're under 5'8"!).

For what? It's as big as other things you were considering....

GT4's are suprisingly roomy inside - I can fit in the back of mine ok and I'm 6ft2! And that's with someone fairly tall in the front. The boots pretty big as well.
