isn't power a funny thing.
as i was mentioning to Fibbs last weekend i was totally happy with the Alfa, and its power, which has lasted about 6 months.
Last night i took out a mates WRX STi.
Now i have to be honest that the styling of the rally specials has never done much for me, although i knew they are quick.
So i planted the throttle in 1st, and yup, you guessed it, giggled like a little school girl.
20 mins later, after alittle drive, im now yearning for more power
and my bank balance was just looking rosy

Now you're just being silly. Go on, admit it!!!
What he needs is light weight and precise, communicative controls...and an exhaust note to die for! Anything else is just a waste of metal!!!

i have all except the first bit.
unless you count 1440kgs as light
i know the alfa ain't exactly slow, but i havn't been forced in my seat that much since i drove a Chim 500 and Gaz took me for a spin
(yet to try the Tuttle mobile )
I'd have to have an RX7 over a Scooby too.......
Much more interesting and rare and more of a head turner - fooking quick and I just love the way they envelope you and make you feel part of the car.
Not driven a Scooby so I can't really compare - but I do appreciate how good they are.
<zealot>You could always buy a Celica GT4 4WD, turbo and slightly more interesting than a Scooby but with similar power etc :P </zealot>

........interesting figures and stuff....
Hmm actually, I'd have the NSX over the Rex - but you HAVE to take up the offer of driving the rex - seriously, everyone should drive one at least once. I'd hate the running costs mind........................that's one area the scooby might win it....

I was suprised at those figures, i was always under the impression that the rex was faster than the supe'. Oh well shows what i know. Think i'd still take the rex, there's something about it (not to take anything away from the supe' of course).
Remember these are yank spec cars. In the article they did mention they were disapointed with both as they had previously performed better times in other tests.
I think that the contemporary J spec cars were very close, the rex did very well on 0-60 due to ~100kg advantage.
The rex went from 255 on release to 265 and eventually 280. The last rexes (Spirit R models ) were 280 in the way that the supras were. That is to say all dyno'd in the UK so far have gone well over 300! The Later rexes were generally accepted as being 4.9-5.1 0-60 (model dependant).
