Hi,

I've seen a number of R32 GTRs kicking about on autotrader for 8-10k... are these likely to be complete sheds or is this a reasonable amount to get one of these cars for? Ideally I'd like something standardish (exhaust and wheels are ok but 500bhp is probably going to be too expensive on the insurance)... am I better off going for a scooby or is a skyline doable at this price.

Basically I need swift, reliable transport with room in the back for 2 small children and the ability to carry kayaks on the roof (so R33s etc are out).

Ta,

Mark

A prefectly reasonable price considering the market is fairly flooded with them at the moment & most people who aspire them can't actually afford to run one. To be honest you don't need to spend that much to get a really nice one.

Buzz me an email I have a really nice R32 GT-R here pretty standard in black with just an exhaust, some tasty 18" Nismo split rim wheels & original Nismo N1 bumper that'd be available for less than that of if your interested.

Price does not reflect the condition IMHO, I could price this one at 10k & surely a few months down down the road someone might buy it.

Drop me a mail & you'll buzz you some pics

Why are R33s out?

Kayaks to go on the roof? possible if you can find a suitable rack, but wouldn't something like a Stagea, scooby wagon or Legnum suit better- if this is one of your primary specifications that is.

I can get a roof rack for an R32 but not for an R33.

Given that I can get a roof rack for an R32 and don't need an estate I'm not sure why any of these would suit me better than a skyline.

Fair do's Dern, No reason why there shouldn't be racks for skylines, I'd just not seen any.

In an ideal world I'd prefer not to muck up the looks of a car like this with a rack however currently I run a quick car and a daily hack the result is that inevitably I end up only using the quick car for purely fun use and the hack for everything else. While this sounds great in theory in practice it means that I drive the hack more than the quick car and I'd prefer to get more use out of my quick car than a quick run every sunday. I used my old porsche 944 like this (rack and all) and the kids loved going out in it whereas they think me old golf is too slow and they're not wrong and I can't take the westfield over 40mph with my 4 year old daughter in it because there's no windscreen... she still wants me to race people though

Besides, I'm a sucker for attention and you get plenty hooning down the M4 in the overtaking lane in a porsche with kayaks straped to the roof... so more of the same please

If I could get a towbar I'd use it for towing the locost to track days too but you can't... I suppose I could get one of the cars mentioned to do this but I may as well borrow the wife's mondeo estate and loan her the skyline for the day.

Regards,

Mark
