Hi again,

I posted a problem a few weeks ago and had a great response. My s13 200sx was coughing and spluttering under acceleration.

As instructed, I changed the coil packs for ones off another car. It is no longer coughing and spluttering under heavy acceleration, but it is juddery and hesitant when cold and under light acceleration (occastionally under heavy acceleration).

The coil packs helped a lot but there could be another problem. What could it be?

Please note that my car has had the stage 1 chip. I don't think that the problem has anything to do with the modifications (Nissan think it is. They won't touch it because it has been "modified"

Thanks again for your help so far, I look forward to your responses.

From this info, & assuming that the engine is breathing & fuelling OK, I would hazard a guess in the direction of (a) timing management, ie the new chip isn't quite dialled in correctly or (b) boost control setup.

Surprised Nissan won't touch it. I took my car into a dealship not long ago and the lads where over it like a rash.

I had a similar problem (albeit on a different car - mx5) that was solved with new leads...
