im selling my mr2, i need more seats and a boot, but cant decide wether to sell it cheap in the condition its in (a couple of jobs need doing and mot is due next month).... or spend money on it to get it right and sell it for more money. the thing is that if i sell it cheap i lose the expensive alloys on it and the expensive private plate, but ive not really got the time or money to spend on it to get it right!!!!

ANY IDEAS????

well it needs an mot next month, the drivers window switch is not working and the temp gauge isnt working. theres a rip in the drivers seat and it needs a good buffing.... but the wheels are 17" azevs, the plate is worth over £500 and its only done 64,000 miles. i just have no time to fix up and sell, but i dont have enough money to lose loads on the car selling it cheap.

How much is your time worth and how much would the effect be on the price if your didn't do the work?

The snags you describe make the car sound like it is badly cared for. It would put me off. Set aside a weekend to go over the car with a power mop, to bring up the colour.

At the very least, MOT the car. Otherwise, potential buyers would probably wonder what else more serious needed fixed.
