I spotted a couple of cars that I guess had been drifting on the M1 going south tonight near Luton (a porsche and something jap, both stickered up, on the back of a trailer).

Ahhh yes slight lack of ponies under the old bonnet got me stumped, think most people spotted it! Absolutely flat out 99% of the way, even tried the don't lift off ever technique, just mash the clutch & change gear whilst hanging on the rev limiter. Seems I need at least another 100bhp....

Spent most of Saturday sorting a new engine for Mr Tokita (JP) with an identical car to me

who blew his engine Saturday morning. In Plymouth-Dakar rally mode I said "Yeah we'll fix that no worries" 20 mins later I'd found him a complete car & engine via the MKIII Supra Owners Club

Spent much of the evening helping him get it swapped over

Only to find it had a duff head gasket - bugger.

Anyway he was soooo pleased we helped him out & I'm now famous amongst the Japanese D1 drivers as CptFixit & he's going to supply me a Samuarai headband to sport at the next D1 rounds.

Not enough power to keep the wheels spinning between corners one and two. And when there was that fantastic looking red and black 350 with 500 ponies, you had your work cut out.

I was impressed by the BMW estate - Leftfield choice. I couldn't make out the commentator; was it 280 or 380 horses? www.driftking.nl

I did go for a wander in the pits and hoped to say hello (I did one of your Drift Academy courses in December) but there seemed to be a restriction on who could get in.

The BMW was very different! As was the noise it made!

What a great day out, sorry I didn't catch you Declan, I saw your car, but couldn't find you.

Some outrageous action on track, the car control was awesome; I have some DV footage that I'll pop on PH TV when I get a chance!

Definitely be attending the next round at Silverstone!
