Right, I've had this car since january, (which is getting on for a record for me ) and I dont think I've posted up any progress pics.

So here goes (please excuse phone cam quality)

The day I got it.

First mod, remove the numberplate brick (known as "de-bricking" ) and cut down the plate a little

Next was some lower profile tyres, as they reduce sidewall roll, and were cheaper. And the Firestone Fuel Savers that it came with saved fuel by reducing grip. Not an ideal swap IMO.
But 4 new Yokohama A539's fitted for less than £160

The downsides are my speedo now reads 6% fast, and my arch gap has increased to 4inches

Next up was a turbo back 2.5inch diameter twin tailpipe Mongoose exhaust (I have no idea why the phot's blue )

As I cant afford £450 for real Kouki lights, I decided to "Pike Kouki" them, which involves some black spray paint, and some Chav Spec tailight tint spray

Next, was a cream leather interior from a Pre-facelift S13 (nicer seats) which I am now breaking for spares.

The drivers seat leaves a little to be desired, but as the rest of my car is less than mint, it suits it quite well. It has been called JDM Rat Look

And as you can see, the front has also received the "JDM Dori" look and some more Chav Spec tinting spray

And finally it now sits 55mm lower thanks to some 2nd hand Apex Springs and KYB dampers

Later on today I'm picking up a boost gauge and a "Bren Device" (manual boost controller, I know you love them Gaz ) and hopefully once my new tenant moves in I can use his rent to start paying for some new wheels. Advans all the way

Anyway, hope you like it, I certainly do, and for the 1st time in 5 years, after 6 months I'm not wanting to sell it

edit to say, I also have been on an SXOC RR day where it recorded 191bhp at the flywheel, when it was completely standard, and should only have been 169bhp. Now it has the exhaust mentioned above, an HKS Panel filter in a heavily drilled airbox with B&Q cold air ducting (more "Pike Modding" ) and soon to be increased boost to 10-12psi, so hopefully should increase the bhp to a near respectable level.

Yeah, no idea about the photo, some have turned out blue, others haven't.

Right, well I've got my new boost gauge and MBC already to go, so wish me luck, I'm off to fit them now. Boost gauge first me thinks

I like what you have done with the rear lights. The original ones are horrible and with kouki's at 400+ thats a great little mod.

After a bit of bodging, I got my boost gauge fitted

Hacked the original DIN Cubby hole thing apart

And held the guage in place with the bodgers friend, a cable tie

It will be replaced with either a triple gauge DIN plate or a double with Oil temp & pressure and a pillar mount pod for the boost, I haven't decided yet.

I also got my boost valve fitted, and after an initial run at 16psi (which flew BTW) I've now set it at 11psi, and it holds boost very well, with no spiking so far (although I rarely hit full boost anyway in daily driving, so I'm not too worried)

A chap on the SXOC is currently looking into postage for his Apexi Induction kit, so that will replace the bodged HKS panel filter arrangement.

FMIC is also been looked into, as is a Horsham Developments Stage 1 chip, as it also increases MPG

Then its a Walbro fuel pump and I'm be happy as I'll be able to up the boost to about 15-16psi. Then possibly a T28 turbo and bigger injectors

You can't go wrong with one of those, Jez is one of my customers and all his chips are brilliant

Everyone on the SXOC loves "Jez Chips" as they're known

I was looking into a new rad and FMIC but I think a visit down to Jez should come next.

Last time I checked his site it was only ~£100 fitted and with the mods I have I could be expecting up to 230bhp (at fly)

Were you on the M25 on Tuesday evening?? chrisbr68 and I were on the way back from Dover/Le Mans and a black S13 drove with us for a short while. I was in a Silver rover 400 and he was in his blue S13 - both with huge and stickers on the sides! If it was you, you couldn't have missed us!!!

Nope, not me

If it had of been me, your post would have read more like "was it you driving like a complete tool on the M25 " as motorways tend to get the better of me

UPDATE.

The BMIC is now complete (thats bodge mounted intercooler )

Its from a Volvo (760 IIRC) and its huge. I never measured it, but its as big as the rad

A quick bit of hacking around with a load of spare stock intercooler hoses soon had that sorted, then a smaller battery (came in one of my parts cars, so no need for an expensive red top thing ), a bit more bodging to secure the rad on its new "mounts", shortening the top rad hose and then that was it. Done.

For some reason its made turbo whine/spool louder And it keeps pulling now way past where it used to start running out of steam (up to about 6250rpm)

And all this for £60 posted.

Chuffed isn't the word

Good work Ed!

As an aside, I bet some of that Liquid Leather stuff would work wonders on your drivers seat...

They are a bit shagged. But they're also comfy, and hold you in better than the later style seats.

Although, not enough for drifting as I've been finding out But I really dont want bucket seats in my daily driver, so I'll have to make do
