Ok looking for a bit of knowledge here.

I am still foolishly (financially) looking into buying an R32 GTR.
There are a few around here that are all similar price £9.5 - £10.5k and similar milage. However some are standardish (exhaust + filter only) and some are v.modded with around 400-500bhp.
This obviously makes the modded ones look better value as i would always intend to go down the power gain road anyway.
BUT, does it make a big difference to insurance, considering it is a Grp 20 (import) anyway?

Also does servicing become more expensive, even with well done yet mild modifications?

Incidently, I am not that interested in having the fastest car on the road, hence why i want an R32, it is more about the overall ability and driving feel of the car that appeals to me.

Hiya

The amount of power you want will influence the insurance to a degree..

To give you some idea I've got an R32 400bhp Stage 1 GTR with uprated ecu, full exhaust including decat/downpipes and greddy filters. The car is lowered and on non standard split rim wheels.

A Plan are by far and away the best for insuring GTR's in my opinion. I'm paying £600 fully comp with protected no claims (am 31 with full no claims bonus)

R32's are lighter than R33 or 34 so by default makes them faster in a straight line, though newer ones have more advanced electronics to enable them to corner quicker. I bought my 32 because the driving experience was superb and you're really involved.
