STI RA Suspension
Discussion
My mate had a non-RA classic impreza on track this weekend. nothing done suspension wise appart from some strut braces. He found it handled well enough, only a lack of decent tyres preventing him from properly commiting to corners.
Having the lighter weight version, you'd be at an advantage from the outset.

I haven't had one on track, but the one I drove on the road ('96 ver2 STi-RA V-ltd) had pretty much zero body roll and no shortage of grip, its the stiffest setup car I've driven (though that isn't saying much, I haven't driven any 'proper' sportscars).
It still lit up all 4 wheels and sideways on dry tarmac though pulling away from an intersection.
ETA: RA handled much better than the normal WRX (maybe turbo 2000 to you?) wagon I was in the following day, which was wearing heavy, ugly 18" mags and bumped, body-rolled and wallowed quite a bit on bumpy/twisty roads.

as far as they go they're not bad at all on track. the bodyroll is much better than the WRX's due to the stiffer roll bars. i'd still opt for coilovers and further stiffened roll bars, and some polybushing if it was to be an all out track car, but this would make it fairly uncivilised on the roads if you're used to something relatively comfortable.
they are damn good fun on track though.
