tarted up me engine!
Discussion
last year blew me engine up in me Prelude, doh! Spent the last 6 odd months tracking down the engine i wanted a JDM spec H22A with the LSD M2B4 gearbox. Finally got it a few weekes back and have been stripping it down ready for some go faster bits. Changed the stock 22lb flywheel to an 8lb'er with an Excedy heavyweight stage 2 clutch, uprated ignition system, stainless catback twinloop exhaust, gates timing belt and manual tensiorer conversion. Having some quad throttle bodies made up at the moment to add some grunt as well.
some piccies:
Came to me like this:
all manky, and dorty like.
Now she looks like this, nearly ready to be slotted in.

thanks fellas, As for the cleaning, basically a few hours of degreasing/scrubbing/washing, then drying then painting. I done the gearbox last weekend so that matches up nicely. Also polished to a mirror finish all the accessories like the dizzy, alternator, starter motor etc, no point having a nice blingin' mo-tah and having scabby looking components hanging off it is there! I must say one has forearms like popeye now!
I went with the HD clutch and lightweight flywheel to take advabtage of the LSD in the gearbox and the extra ponies it will get when the quads go on. Not massive power probably a gain of 30 odd neddies best guestimate. Being FWD, every little helps. Plus the clutch is a fair bit more substantial than the OEM one, so should last a bit longer. Will add some more piccies this weekend, got some serious polishing/buffing/stroking to do of the inlet manifold and exhaust manifold. Engine should be ready to drop in in a few weeks.
