After struggling with a reasonable insurance quote for an R32 A-Plan came up with the goods however I now need to find someone to fit a Cat1 alarm & immobiliser. There isn't much left as standard on the car so I would rather use someone who comes highly recommended, and knows their way around skylines. Also preferably around the east kent area (Canterbury/Ashford) if its not too much to ask!!!!!

What are your experiences with alarms and installers - does the quality vary between the bigger named brands? What type is the best to go for - there seem to be a fair number with all sorts of add ons. Are they worth the money or is it just something else that goes wrong?

Thankyou all!

PS Picking up the car this saturday - keeping my fingers crossed for some decent weather.
Any other skylines/r32's in the area?

Two main choices for cat 1 alarm/imobs that satisfy insurance for import cars would probably be a Clifford 950/650 G5 or Toad A1606- all are modular so trackers etc can be added if needed.
I plumped for the Toad, it has less bells & whistles but is fairly tough & simple, have also heard that the Cliffords can cause all sorts of headaches to get properly setup.
'Fraid I don't know of fitters in your area, though go for a company approved fitter,(check co websites) he will then be able to tell you EXACTLY what he's done & provide you with proper certification of installation for insurance purposes.
