MX5 Urgent help needed
Discussion
It looks like a uk one & after a bit more research i believe it is but the heated seats and being described a s-vt (which i haven't heard of before) was a little bit worrying.
How does the 1.8 sport s-vt (or whatever it is) lie with regards to models?
eg: With my Lotus Elise, you have basic elise, 111r, 11s etc etc
any info would be a big help
cheers

Who described it as an S-VT? Sounds like the salesperson or whoever was just "bigging up" a 1.8is.
Have a look on the V5, if date of first registration and and date of first registration in the uk differ then you have an import.
Heated seats were an option on uk cars, so not that out of the ordinary.
Oh, and on the mk 2 it goes 1.6i, 1.8i, 1.8is and then there are a shed load of "limited editions" with varying levels of equipment and bling...

mine is an s-vt sport, it is definately a UK model,
btw. top of the range, 16" wheels, heated leather, 6 sp box, newer engine, bilstein suspension as standard, braced engine bay and loads of other bits and bobs.
Nice car.
BTW, i am getting a BEGI turbo kit fitted to mine shortly to counter the only issue i have with the car, speed.

cheers for the info.
The turbo options sounds interesting - do you have any costings on it as coming from a Lotus Elise, the creature comforts have gone up dramatically but the speed/ acceleration has gone down.
Apart from that, quite impressed at how they handle.
Have a look at www.flyinmiata.com for more info. Turbo kits enabling anything from 190hp to 300hp, also have a look at www.brperformance.com for superchargers.
UK retailers are www.performance5.com and www.tracktec.co.uk
also you want to look at www.MX5mad.com, the internet trading name of "everything mx5"
I have just this minute ardered the stage 3 kit off them which is as much as the stock internals can take on a T28 turbo and i have been guaranteed 265rwhp (over 300 at the fly) for less than £4k fitted. (i am not going to run anywhere near that much boost straight away to keep the clutch going for a while as the missus is cribbing enough as a further £500 for a clutch wouldn't go down too well)
you can get different packages starting from 165 rwhp (200 fly)
hope this helps

Ummmm the stock internals on the MK1 can take alot more than what the MK2 internals can take??!!
300bhp at the fly might be a bit too much for your engines internals or drivetrain in standard form and I hope you're bolting some kind of piggyback ECU on......Enjoy it while it lasts!!
Have you looked at supercharger options from BRP for your MX5 Andy, also makes the 5 fly along, have a chat as mentined to Performance 5 or Tracktec, can be found via Google.

cheers mate
looks like i'll be doing some research.
If anyone is looking for a Lotus Elise, give me a shout. (would love to keep it but work mileage changes have made me buy something more sensible - 5 series and have the MX5 as a weekend/ office toy)

cheers for the concern, but the price i mentioned includes fully mapped replacement ECU and hosepipe injectors, it is most certainly not a bodge job, point taken about the gearbox though, i will have to look into that some more before upping the boost.
and if the worst happens, there is warranty with the kit!!!!!
