Impreza Insurance, why so expensive? Help needed!!
Discussion
Hi,
As I've now sold my Griffith I'm quite tempted by an Impreza STI with the Prodrive add ons but just got a couple of insurance quotes from the Post Office and privilege and they're mega expensive. Seriously, they're twice as much as the TVR costs me and I'm a little bit shocked by that. Any particular reason for this or are there any companies which specialise in insuring them that anybody could recommend?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers - Chris

One factor is the high risk of theft. Apparently Imprezas, Evos and Audi Quattro turbos are appealing to armed robbers and the like because they are very easy to drive very fast.
I think the PPP is off-putting to insurers as well becuase they just lump it in as an unspecified performance upgrade even though its factory approved. I couldn't get insured on a PPP tuned impreza at all, (i'm under 25), so had to settle for a standard classic turbo
