Hi,

Has anyone got any ideas as to a good garage/specialist who can service my Impreza Turbo for me? The local Subaru main-dealer would like £160 for an oil change which I am finding a little hard to get my head round.

An ideal location would be somewhere near Winchester, or up around the west Midlands (more specifically near Worcester/Hereford/Gloucester).

Any suggestions much appreciated

Cheers,
Matt

I have had my oil changed through my local Subaru dealer at £90 a go so i think there may have been some mistake. Even the 7500 mile service is only £120.

Shop around, you may find another garage which specialises in Scoobys or sports cars in general

If you don't want to do things yourself, Paul at www.zenperformance.co.uk is a pretty safe bet. He's done a fair bit for me over the years (before he started the company)

Just don't look at the mods he does, or it might get expensive

Hi, i dont often go on piston heads so a bit slow. But if you need a good Subaru tuner/service guys. I would try Rowleys Garage on 01884 266243. I own my own company as a sole trader (www.bristonperformance.co.uk) but we only do jap parts not workshop stuff. If you want to give them a call they only charge £25 per hour. Really good guys. I use them when i have customers cars. Make sure you say you were put through via Briston though. Hope thats some help.

I was a bit suprised myself.. Basingstoke Subaru.. prices started at £160 for the basic service (oil change& inspection)and the chap told me it would only take an hour too.. so thats £20 vat, £40 Oil, and £100 for an hours labour..??

Looks like a very good operation and transparent pricing too 110 miles away from either of my locations mind you... I doubt they'd collect it would they ?

Mate, Basingstoke Subaru charge ridiculous prices - Why must it be a Performance/Subaru specialist? does the impreza not use a standard semi synthetic? if this is the case, surely the likes of Kwik Fit could do an oil and filter change for about £35?

Ideally you should use a good quality fully synthetic.

I had the big service done there and cannot fault his work, pity I am moving too far away to use him now...I drove all the way from London to use him, spent £40 in petrol and saved over £300 compared to main dealer
