A Subaru Justy with a mid-mounted 400bhp 2.5 WRX motor (running 2wd)

isn't it brillant? He's using it to try and break the 2wd class record at the Race To The Sky hillclimb down here in NZ at easter. (its the southern hemisphere equivalent to Pikes Peak)

I'll hopefully get some decent photos of it running up the hill in a coupla weeks. with 400bhp/800kg it should go pretty well, the guy driving it can pedal pretty well too which always helps used to rally a Skoda Rapide V8, and a Toyota Starlet V8 before that - has this excellent "drop a bigger motor in it" attitude

...one of his competitors has a Mazda 323 4wd with a fairly well tuned RB25 turbo Skyline motor in the back - whole engine/gearbox assembly is in backwards, so he has to go through the gears the opposite way to usual. classic guy.

sure is.
There are quite a few cheap trusty justies about, I'm often surprised that there aren't more tweaked ones.
