What does the 1800 quid buy you?

For £1800.00 you get a re-mapped engine ECU, uprated exhaust system, and on the WRX only you get free flowing air pipes under the hood.

Seems a lot for just a re-map and exhaust. Whilst not doubting the quality of Prodrive's work, they couldn't throw in a token air filter too could they?

Exhaust - approx 500 quid and dead easy to fit.

Remapped ECU, even for a one off could be done for about a grand. If you're doing 100's at a time, would be much much cheaper.

I'd have hoped for a free flow cat and tubby upgrades for that sort of outlay.

factory backed though i would think, so full warranty. bit like the jcooper stuff for BMW MINI's.

I'm a bit disapointed by the advertised power figures. I've managed to get there with less outlay on my 2 litre STi. Considering the extra 500ccs (and knowing what a Litchfield type25 will do), I'd have hoped for a bit more.

But you don't have to provide a warrenty and make it so all dealers can service and fix it

That's the barrell they've got 'preza customers over it seems. 'If you want a power upgrade and still want to retain the warrantly then you'll have to stump up the cash'.

The type 25 does come with a warranty, but it's probably not as long as the one you get with PPP though. Mine is out of warranty now, but it's been OK so far. (Probably just jinxed it now...)

Remember that the competition will give you a warranty on a number of models with considerably more power. (Evo FQ400 and so-on)

That said, it's a nice package that gives a decent upgrade. Would be bargain at around £350 less.

BTW there's no point in playing with the air intake as it makes sod all difference until you top about 350bhp...
