Hmmm.

Looks like my back box is on the way out. The high pitched tinny noise that I assumed was it catching something is actually the packing making a break for freedom.

This vexxes me. It's only about three and a half years old.

Anyone got a good source for a Blitz Spec NUR back box? Preferably cheap.

Does it have a bung? Mine rattles as the bung is a bit loose.

It has a bung, but I only fit it for motorway cruising. It's defo the packing coming out (local exhaust place agrees). I suspect the rather frequent flames didn't help.

Wondering if it can be repacked and rewelded...

Sorry to hear about this James, I would have thought a half decent welder could have patched it up for you.
Probably best price for a new Blitz Nur type R (whole cat back tho)for an ST205 is GB£351.92 delivered to the UK. From www.nengun.com They're pretty good have used 'em plenty of times.

Thanks bud. Fennies give me 10%, so I think they work out slightly cheaper, but we'll see.

Possibly could be welded, so I'm doing a little research.

Personally, I think Blitz should send a little man to fix it for me frankly.

The other option is rip all the packing out and go for full on chav noise (god it would be boomy....)

Oh this just gets better.

If you have a Nur Spec R system then the back box cannot be replaced you would have to purchase a new cat back system as the back boxes that Blitz sell separately are a slight different size and do not fit the pipes.

Surely that's profiteering??? (sp?) I can't believ the sell different sized b/boxes depending if you buy the entire system or not. I'd get it rewelded and repacked, or be on the phone to BBC Watchdog- that's a complete rip-off! What do Fensport say on the issue?

Going to have a chat with Adrian/Tony tomorrow, but their website makes it clear that a full system and a backbox are somewhat different.

God alone knows why.

How did your chat go with the guys at Fennies James? Hope it can be repaired (can't for the life of me see why not) so that you can spend your hard-earned on other interesting toys.

I'm very sorry but I cannot help you. Blitz silencers cannot be repacked I'm afraid.

I assume this exhaust is for an ST205? If so then I will have some more of these next month, and the best I can offer you is a goodwill discount on a new system of 20%. I appreciate that three years to develop a fault is not great, but Blitz do not warrant any of their goods to overseas customers. We put a standard one year warranty on all Blitz products as we have to by law.

Allow me now to pass you over to our customer relations manager, Mr Fhaq Ewe.....
