Decided to treat the 2 to a new set of wheels to A) prevent me from having to inflate the tyres every few days due to the crap jap valves that leak as bad as the t-bars and B) keep me interested in the car and stop me from looking at other more expensive cars all the time.

There is a company advertised in J-Tuner called Rota wheels and i've had a sniff round on their site, some nice homages to the usual jap favourites on there and the prices aren't bad as i'm not looking to spend loads on the wheels.

The pain with the MR2 is that ideally i'd like another set with wider wheels at the back than the front, I know I can get round this by fitting a couple of sizes higher on the rears and this is looking like my only option at the moment. Don't want to buy secondhand wheels as I've tried that and it didn't work out at all well.

Any MR2 owners got any suggestions, both for and against the wheels mentioned above, or alternatives.

Cheers guys.

rota(rarerims) are a good make. julian has had lots of business from many happy customes.
all the wheels are replicas of more expensive versions, and the quality isnt lacking.

ill be parting with a few hundred £ soon for some wheels.

Cheers Stew, didn't want to go buying from them if they're not well made.

Have seen their wheels- they do all look to be good quality replicas of popular classics.

Pretty much anything from Volk would be sweet

It would, but see my above post about not wanting to spend a fortune. The secondhand ones I bought were Volks and whilst when they were new i'm sure they were lovely but the description on the site didn't match what the wheels and tyres were like and I sent them straight back.

Emailed a company earlier who can do me a set of 17" ASA FR5's with staggered widths for the front and rears with tyres for £900. 2 piece split rims too and I'm highly tempted, but don't want to spend anymore than that.

TBH mate I would be loathed to put cheap rims on a performance/hard driven car. The forces wheels are subjected to underbraking from high speed are huge.

That's why i'm likely to go for the ASA ones, ok they're not in the Volks league of things but they're owned by BBS so they should be pretty damn good.
