Hello chaps.

Seriously looking at trying to pick up a tubby in the next week or two. Am I right in saying thet the rev3 onwards (1994+) has the 240bhp engine rather than the 220bhp?

How much differences does this make to the driving experience? Is it really worth the extra cost, and is there any other major differences to consider?

Cheers.

But revs 2s are cheaper, and won't disappoint.

If I was doing it again, it'd be a rev3.

Ok this is how I understand the advantages of the REV3 +

Bigger injectors
Better head
Lower compression allowing higher boost
stronger rods
MAP not MAF based so easier to tune
and the turbo is apparently much better

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Just found out I am going to be unemployed in a couple of months so car plans have just taken a serious downturn.

So who knows about mk4 fiestas?

Gutted for you.

Cheers, but it's not a job I'll miss much. The only shame is that I'll have to go for low cost motoring in the mean time.
