Good choice

First port of call has to be www.lancerregister.com where you will find loads of advice, FAQs & people that should tell you everything you want to know.

Yes it can be an expensive hobby but by god is it fun

Speaking from my own experience, making sure you get a decent car to start with is the trick. When I first started looking for one I found the Autotrader was very much a lottery. I test drove some right nails, and experienced some fairly shocking dealers before I came across mine.

Petrol will be your main expense, about £40 for a full tank of Optimax / BP Ultimate & that normally gets me about 200ish miles with occaisonal bouts of 'spirited' driving. Start to give it some serious stick and you'll be getting well below 150 for a tank, Nectar points soon add up at that point

Servicing is every 4500 miles and a lot of people prefer to take them to a specialist rather than a Mitsi main dealer (several horror stories & tales of incomptence from supposedly qualified Ralliart technicians). My first service with the car was at the start of the month and set me back about £250 including all fluids, which are numerous on the Evo.

Costs aside, it really is a huge amount of fun to drive and will put a bloody great smile on your face

Highly recommend this little rare beast -

Only eleven VI RS Sprints ever made by Mitsubishi (think there are only 8 left in the world), my mate has one and he came 10th at TOTB 4 even thought he only had 400bhp compared to all the other monsters,

6's are by far the best Evo made,
