SPEEDO ISSUE ON LANCER 1.5GLI IMPORT

Hi guys.
I just bought a Mitsubushi Lancer 1.5GLI (IMPORT) on an S plate.

The Speedo had apparently packed up and as i am new to jap cars i dont know where to start looking.

It has had the conversion to MPH already.

So i dont know if its a fault with a sensor or the clock its self.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Just thinking out loud here.
If the car has had the speedo conv done recently, even money on the fault is related to that.I should have a good squint at all the connections/wiring/components along the route.

The conversion was done when the car was imported a few years ago, but ill have a butchers anyways..
