What sort of MX-5 can you pick up for £5k?

A mate of mine is looking for an MX-5,through the trade - not privately, and wants the best MX5 for five grand.
He has found a 99 S with low 70k miles, as a UK car - is this par for the course?
Anything to look out for?
I'm going tyre-kicking tomorrow and any advice would be appreciated!

Missing my old MX-5 massively - the Z4 is fun, but the handling and gearchange on the MX-5 was iconic!
Shame I can't justify two cars!
