Recently I have been having a problem with the car wanting to cut out. I can be doing about 3000rpm and the car will cough and splutter revs will rise and drop, then it will be okay for a few hundred yards then the same will hapeen again and then eventually cut out.

I can leave it for about 10 mins, and it will start again but go through exactly the same routine once driving.

I spoke to Marc Light who built the car and he suggested it could be due to the Greddy Plugs I'm running being a cold plug , so I changed them but I still have the same problem.

Someone has suggeted that it could be the AFM, so I am borrowing one today to try that. Any other advice?

Car starts and runs idle perfectly and will rev perfectly too.

It looks like I have a small crack forming on the inlet manifold after the induction kit, could this cause it?

Is the crack after the AFM? If so yes it could as itll be taking in unmetered air which the ecu hasnt accounted for.
Confirm it is leaking air there by spraying engine starter or similar combustibel spray onto the crack while at idle (dont go mad with it or youll burn the world down! ) and listen for any change in idle revs.
If they change upon spraying, youve hit paydirt.

The crack is after the AFM. It is leaking air I just spat on the crack got the other have to rev the car and I could this it bubble.

Anything I can do as a quick fix? I'm going to a car meet this weekend and will not have time to get the manifold welded.

Does look like the crack is the prob.A failing O2 sensor can also give this rough startup/low rev symptom.
