My '97 prelude 2.2 Vtec will need a service soon, including a cambelt change.

Don't want to pay ££ at the main dealer. Any recommendations for a reputable specialist in Oxfordshire (or close enough) who could do the work??

Actually I's like to know the same, but a bit further south - around Ascot/Bracknell ish.

I've got 2 of them to do

Non springs to mind for that area. Worth logging onto the Civic Type R Owners website. Packed full of info on Hondas. There's a servicing section in there which should have details of Honda specialists in your area.

Cheers

TGM Motorsport in Fleet Hampshire are very good. Its run by Tom Gannon who races at DC5 and there are always lots of Far East exotica there whenever getting work done. They deal mainly in hondas and only chanrge around 35 pounds an hour. They have full diagnostic equipment and compared to some of the service I have had from Honda UK they are great.

They do not take the piss with oil and consumable charges, there only downfall is that jobs take that little bit longer and there are no curtesy cars etc. But they are thourough and do a good job. If modifications are your thing they have tuned DC5 and CTRS. They import spoon, hks and the like.

My ATR hasn't missed a beat since they have been servicing it and they are nice guys.

Give then a call. 01252 811972 (Say that Alex recommended you)

They did have a website but the guy running it diappeared and they cannot get access to change it.

I work for Honda's dealer marketing agency and it might be worth giving your local one a call, as they have recently launched fixed price servcing on cars over 3 years old called Honda Happiness. They want to maintain their relationship with all Honda owners and are worries that they are going off to independents, which is why they've cut thier prices. It means you'll get Honda genuine parts which were obviously designed for the car.

Might be worth a call anyway.

I always used honda dealers for my old prelude even though it was a 91 import and this was only 5 years ago or so and always got excellent service, never got ripped off and always got a courtesy car.

Do you mean the £500 covers all your servicing bills for 5 years?

up, £500 "Honda Happiness".... parts and labout for 5 years worth servicing based on 1 service per year (so effectively 5 services all inclusive)
