So what did you buy?

Ah, I thought I had missed something out.

I am now the proud owner of a black 1992/3 Nissan 200SX!!

Not the most glamourous car on the world, nor the tidiest, but it was cheap, fast and fun to drive. And the fully stamped service book helped aswell.

I'll get some pics on Sunday and post them up. But so far a big

Funnily enough I was looking at a 'rocco but ended up with the 200.

There is a nice blue GT II rocco down oxford way for sale, non standard wheels on it, but mint otherwise, with leccy windows and air con!!!!
I've probably still got his number if your interested (and I've got a set of Pirelli P-Slots that would suit it down to the ground as well )

Pics of the 200 should be tomorrow now I'm afraid Tuttle. I've got to spend my day off putting my minidisc player in, make a new parcel shelf that doesn't have holes in it (6x9's & a small sub ) and then clean it and take photo's. All after a night of beer and curry for my brother Fatboy's birthday!!!!

He was asking £1k IIRC (a bit steep imho) but that was with the 16in maxy p wheels, so either buy the car as is, and sell the wheels on fleabay to get the money back, or tell him to keep the wheels, and get it cheaper. That was my plan anyway, but as I said, I ended up getting the 200.

Click here for details I though it was worth remembering the car cos it had air con, and I've never seen a VW older or lesser spec than a MK3 Golf GTi 16v with a/c before. Although imo a 'Rocco is far superior to a MK3 GTi.

Quite a nice colour aswell.

It a tough choice between MK1 & MK2.

If it were for the daily hack, just to and from work, Tesco's etc, I'd go for the MK2. Just a bit more user friendly. Finding one with PAS,E/W and a sunroof that doesn't leak is fairly easy, and they are cheap as chips.

But for a weekend thrash about (I'd imagine you'd use the FTO) I'd go for the MK1 with coilovers, uprate the brakes and nice chunky wheel/tyre combo and you're onto a winner.

But a MK2 with big bumpers, BBS wheels, and sat a bit lower than stock is also a winning combination.

FTO will be the weekend toy, as im seriously fed up of having people re-scupt the doors/wings/bumpers with poor excuses of parking (park and ride for work).
and with all those curves and funny angles its expensive to fix
a mk1 would be ideal, but are getting expensive, but an 8v big bumper (pref in Oak Green) is what im after
failing those 2 im also watching a mk1 'rocco storm on ebay

Good work.

Thats an absolute bargain. Especially for a car as well made as a MK2 Golf

122k on it, almost all history, engines solid (new h/g) not too tappety,
not as quick/nimble as your beaut of a Mk1, but a cheaper sub

My MK1 was really tappety, but I changed to a slightly thicker grade of (cheap french) oil, and that coupled with a full engine service, it ran like a dream.

Thats another bonus of having the 8v, so easy to work on.

122k is nothing to these engines, mine had 156k on it, still the original lump (and the speedo didn't work half the time, so it could have been more!!)

My MK1 was nimble, but it didn't do my back any good. Rock solid suspension, and about a rizlas clearance on the tyres. I could have lifted it a bit on the coilovers and softened it, but then it wouldn't have looked quite so good
