Yeah mate, I tried shining the BattySignal into the sky but to no avail!

I think I was just bored at work and fancied an e-chat. Got the week off now though so no boredom for me!

To be fair pwig, now i've been out in your "car" you can never critisize the MRT again.

Things I have that you dont:

1. a fuel guage that works
2. a speedo that works
3. a fully functioning odometer.
4. self cancelling indicators (although it was amusing watching you manually flash yours on and off.
5. a heater with adjustable temperature controls.
6. Traction
7. Doors

Need I go on?

Actually : I've got an intermitant tacho which works when the lights are on- but when I switch on the lights the speedo goes dead.
I've spents hours & hours tracing all the wiring/earths etc, even resoldered the gauge pcb-go figure.

reminds me of a problem in my old car (a 1986 Subaru Leone in fact), after installing a new stereo it did what your speedo is doing, except it only turned off with high beam. in the end I got sick of tracing wires and reading wiring diagrams in the manual (which turned out to be wrong anyway), decided I couldn't be bothered fixing it properly, and rewired it to turn off with the horn instead of the headlights.

was something to do with where I was taking the power feed from, and 80's Subaru electrics....

edit: I realise this probably doesn't help at all, but I thought it was a funny story.
